Technical solutions for secure and universal user authentication in an information system.
Two mechanisms for strong authentication support:
one-time / session passwords;
public keys infrastructure.
One-time passwords (OTP) are used to protect remote access to information resources, as they do not require any interfaces on a target device on which the authentication takes place. Public key infrastructure (PKI) is a universal method of strong authentication in corporate infrastructure, applications and data access. PKI also allows digital signature, encryption technologies implementation and single sign on authentication on many systems (SingleSign-On, SSO).
